Instagram appears to be experimenting with a three hashtag limit for posts and reels. At present this isn’t across all accounts but reports have been received that some users/accounts are now getting a message of ‘You can only add 3 hashtags to your caption’.
Many users are frustrated by the surprise change as Instagram has a 30 hashtag limit and a lot of creators rely on this to reach new audiences.
At present reports are stating that this is only happening on mobile devices when uploading a new post.
Meta haven’t spread any word about whether this is a full rollout, a test to certain accounts or some glitch that is being fixed.
